Mitchell Harris, a 12-year veteran of BNY Mellon and former CEO of Standish and Pareto Partners, replaced Curtis Arledge last month as CEO of BNY Mellon’s Investment Management Business. Mr. Arledge left the firm to pursue outside opportunities, and Mr. Harris – who had already been responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the company’s investment boutiques and wealth management business – immediately stepped in as the division’s CEO. In this expanded role, he’ll report directly to company-wide CEO and Chairman Gerald Hassell.

“Mitchell has an impressive track record in the investment management industry, having led several successful firms during his career and most recently in overseeing our industry leading line-up of investment boutiques globally,” said Mr. Hassell in a statement. “He is well regarded across our client base, and I am confident he will lead our investment management business with great insight and success.”

The BNY Mellon Investment Management business encompasses BNY Mellon’s affiliated investment management firms, wealth management services and global distribution companies. This includes the range of fund offered by Dreyfus, who offers several alternative mutual funds including the Dreyfus Select Managers Long/Short Equity Fund and the Dreyfus Alternative Diversifier Strategies Fund.

Mr. Hassell thanked Mr. Arledge for his “many contributions” and helping to position BNY Mellon’s Investment Management and Markets businesses “for growth and success moving forward.”
