Video: Diverging Global Economy Creates Opportunity in Alternatives

Hedge funds have a different set of tools that allow them to manage assets in a more flexibility manner, thus allowing them to outperform in different markets, according to Andrew Lee, Global Head of Alternative Investments at UBS. This is a significant difference from traditional, long-only actively managed funds that have significant constraints around how they invest. Going into 2015 with higher levels of volatility, the more flexible tool kit available to hedge funds should allow them to navigate what might be a choppy market and higher levels of return dispersion within asset classes.
