Tim Melvin
Tim Melvin has more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector. An expert on the community banking sector, he is the editor of Banking on Profit, a research service that taps into value and trends found in the sector.
His community bank research has a perfect track record of 45 out of 45 and delivered a cumulative return of 101% during its first five years.
Tim’s research and writing center on value investing, REITS, Private Equity Replication, and other alternative strategies designed to outperform in any markets. He has consulted for a number of leading hedge funds, private equity managers, and community banking experts.
Prior to his shift into private research, Tim was a vice president at Ferris Baker Watts, a boutique investment firm, where he specialized in deep value investing.
Tim has worked as a stockbroker, advisor and portfolio manager. He also created a program called Junior Chamber Course on Value Investing, which helps teach young adults about the basic principles and techniques of value investing.
He has written publications including Money Map Press, TheStreet, Active Trader, Wall Street Digest, and Investopedia about value investing.
