Artificial Intelligence: BlackBerry Now Arms Its Mobiles With AI-Powered Threat Defense
The solution will protect against mobile malware and phishing attacks.
BlackBerry Protect Mobile is the new AI-powered mobile threat defense solution from BlackBerry Ltd (NYSE: BB).
It is an extension of the BlackBerry Protect AI endpoint security solution that prevents breaches and provides additional controls to guard against malicious threats. The system does not need human intervention, cloud connections, signatures, heuristics, or sandboxes. (CISION PR NEWSWIRE)
BlackBerry: Protection of remote workers
Remote workers may be at risk of mobile malware and phishing attacks. However, the BlackBerry Protect Mobile solution enables security teams to monitor their mobile, desktop, and server endpoints from a single security console. They can therefore step in at a critical time if a mobile device is in danger of being compromised.
According to the Canadian company, the pandemic-triggered shift to remote working has given a boost to global mobile phishing attempts. These have risen by 40%. It observed that in 60% of breaches the hackers could compromise the organization within a few minutes.
However, the company’s advanced AI engine and BlackBerry Protect Mobile can detect attacks before they can execute.
Protection of the enterprise without human intervention
BlackBerry Protect Mobile can alert a remote user in case they are at risk of opening malicious URLs or spoofing websites. The solution identifies security vulnerabilities and potentially malicious activities through advanced monitoring methods at the application level.
“The shift to global work from home driven by the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the traditional notion of work, and remote work is here to stay,” said Phil Hochmuth, Program Vice President, Enterprise Mobility, IDC, in a statement. “We expect that the WFH boom will spark initiatives to modernize enterprise security, including mobile threat detection, which is essential for organizations to defend their users from growing mobile risks.”
BlackBerry Cyber Suite
BlackBerry Protect Mobile is a part of the company’s larger Cyber Suite.
The company has launched it alongside the BlackBerry Persona Desktop, a security solution that similarly uses advanced AI and machine learning to thwart hacks and data breaches at the endpoint itself, without having to share data back and forth on the cloud.
