Alternative Investments/Digital: Crypto ETPs From WisdomTree And Bitcoin Capital List in Europe
The ETPs are for bitcoin and ether, and trade on Euronext and the SIX Swiss Exchange.
Asset manager WisdomTree listed on December 2 the Crypto Mega Cap Equal Weight ETP on Euronext exchanges in Paris and Amsterdam under the symbol MEGA. Meanwhile, Bitcoin Capital AG launched the FiCAS Active Bitcoin ETP (BTCB) and FiCAS Active Ethereum ETP (ETHB) on the SIX Swiss Exchange. (COIN Telegraph)
WisdomTree: Crypto Mega Cap Equal Weight ETP
The ETP from WisdomTree was previously listed on Deutsche Boerse’s digital exchange Xetra and Swiss SIX exchange when it launched in November.
It is backed by physical holdings of bitcoin and ether, and is rebalanced quarterly.
Due to regulatory reluctance to approve spot crypto ETFs, US asset managers are increasingly offering crypto products on European exchanges.
Last month, asset manager Invesco launched the Invesco Physical Bitcoin ETN on the digital stock exchange Xetra under the ticker symbol BTIC.
Bitcoin Capital: FiCAS Active Bitcoin ETP (BTCB) and FiCAS Active Ethereum ETP (ETHB)
The actively managed ETPs are launched by Bitcoin Capital, a family office and FiCAS AG subsidiary based in Zug, Switzerland.
They are open to Institutional investors, professional, and private investors in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the European Union (excluding Hungary).
“Our purpose is to grant investors safe and easy access to digital assets and are convinced that crypto assets will soon be part of the diversification strategy of many investment portfolios,” said Dr. Luca Schenk, chairman of Bitcoin Capital AG. “The two new products with the most relevant cryptocurrencies as underlying may, through their active management, improve the overall portfolio risk by reducing underlying volatility.”
