Digital Assets: Blockchain.com Integrates NFT Transactions Inside Its Wallet
Blockchain.com NFT is being offered as first access to users signing up for the beta version.
Blockchain.com, a block explorer, crypto wallet provider, and digital asset exchange platform, announced its Blockchain.com NFT, a marketplace that will allow users to buy, sell, and store NFTs right inside their Blockchain.com Wallet. (Medium)
Now that interest in NFTs is booming, the goal of the company is to streamline, unify and ease up the whole process of an NFT transaction. For example, a simple NFT purchase is really not so simple when you look at the steps involved:
- Buy crypto on an exchange
- Transfer the crypto from the exchange to a wallet
- Connect the wallet to a NFT marketplace
- Browse the marketplace for an NFT to buy
- Buy the NFT using the crypto in the wallet and then store the NFT in the wallet.
“We want to make accessing the NFT market as easy as accessing the crypto market,” writes Blockchain in their announcement. “With the Blockchain.com NFT marketplace (in beta), you’ll be able to browse, buy, sell, and securely store NFTs without ever leaving your Blockchain.com Wallet.”
“The growth and excitement in the NFT space is undeniable, but we see many of the same challenges to adoption that crypto faced in its earlier days.”
Therefore, for NFTs, the company will draw on its experience over the last decade of helping tens of millions of people access crypto by providing an easy way to buy, sell, swap, store, and earn crypto.
According to CoinDesk, NFTs trading volume surged 700% to $10.7 billion in the third quarter, attracting the attention of sports teams as well as a range of creative people such as musicians and artists, among others.
