Alternative Investments/Digital: New Year Message From Mexican Billionaire Salinas – “Buy Bitcoin”
Ricardo Salinas Pliego: Billionaire and Mexico’s third richest person.
In a Christmas video, Mexican billionaire Salinas exhorted people to avoid fiat money and to invest in bitcoin. The long-time bitcoin aficionado ranks the crypto as one of his “best investments ever,” having first bought it at $500 in 2013 through Grayscale. Like El Salvador president Nayib Bukele, Salinas too is a votary for bitcoin as a medium of cross-border remittances for Mexicans. (CVBJ.biz)
Salinas on Christmas Eve
Salinas: “Steer clear of fiat money. Whether it’s the Dollar, the Euro, or the Yen – it’s all the same. It’s fake money made of paper lies. Central banks are producing more than ever.”
“Invest in Bitcoin,” he added.
His words may be relevant in the context of runaway inflation in the US, with data showing that prices are rising at the fastest rate in decades. One reason for the phenomenon could be rampant money printing to address the challenges from the COVID pandemic.
In November, Salinas panned US fiscal policies in a tweet on fake money creation.
“Good old USA is looking more and more like any other irresponsible third world country….wow…look at the scale of fake money creation. Buy #Bitcoin right now,” he tweeted.
“Bitcoin is the new gold… Transporting Bitcoin is so much easier than having gold bars in your pockets,” the billionaire added.
The world belongs to dreamers!
Salinas appended the video to this Christmas message on Friday:
“My dear 957,200 followers on Twitter, I leave you a message of #Christmas and # FindeAño, please listen to it and share it.
A hug and all the success of the universe for all of you, may God give you health, desire to live and get ahead, the world belongs to dreamers! pic.twitter.com/yL3HSNb9Hb
