Digital Assets: Google Cloud Launches Blockchain Node Engine, A Fully Managed Node-Hosting Service
The Engine is aimed at Web3 developers and to help them build and deploy new products on blockchains.
Google Cloud announced today a product for fully managed node-hosting for Web3 development – its Blockchain Node Engine – which minimizes the need for node operations. The Blockchain Node Engine will first support the Ethereum blockchain, providing developers with fully managed Ethereum nodes with secure blockchain access. (Google Cloud)

“Web3 companies who require dedicated nodes can relay transactions, deploy smart contracts, and read or write blockchain data with the reliability, performance, and security they expect from Google Cloud compute and network infrastructure,” said Google in its announcement of the fully managed node hosting service.
Web3 developers will get the following benefits from the Engine:
· Faster and easier deployment of a new node compared to the time-intensive process of manually deploying a node. Developers can deploy a new node with a single operation, and specify the desired region and network (mainnet, testnet).
· The Engine offers protection against unauthorized access to nodes by placing them behind a Virtual Private Cloud firewall, ensuring that only trusted machines and users can communicate with client endpoints.
· The Engine obviates the need for having a DevOps team on-hand to monitor the system and remediate problems during an outage. Being fully managed, Google Cloud actively monitors the nodes and restarts them during outages as needed.
The introduction of the Blockchain Node Engine shows Google’s intentions to be a key player in the Web3 infrastructure space.
