AGEYE Technologies focuses on the use of computer machine vision, deep learning neural networks and IoT-connected devices to create the next generation of autonomous indoor farms.

AGEYE Technologies aims to help indoor farms become sustainable and scalable through significant reductions in operational costs by using AI, IoT sensors, and its automation platform. The platform monitors every connected vertical farm or greenhouse 24/7, 365 – and uses state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to turn these visual inputs into growth development insights and autonomous actions, improving harvest predictability and profitability. Dutch speciality chemicals producer Nouryon has announced a collaboration with, and an investment, in AGEYE. (Nouryon)

Nouryon’s investment amount was not disclosed; however, AGEYE, which is a part of Nvidia’s AI Inception startup programme, raised $500,000 in an October seed round.

“The AGEYE platform’s ability to rapidly identify localized growth irregularities and implement corrective actions is an excellent complement to Nouryon’s crop nutrition and crop protection product portfolio,” said Ignacio Garin, Vice President, Agriculture and Food at Nouryon. “We look forward to collaborating closely with AGEYE to accelerate the development of this revolutionary technology and offer our customers the next generation of solutions in the indoor farming sector.”

Nouryon is also a strategic partner in Icos Capital Fund III which invests in innovative scale-ups developing sustainable technologies in the chemical and food sectors.

Nick Genty, Co-Founder and CEO of AGEYE, said Nouryon would advance the sustainability of indoor farming with its extensive global reach in serving fertigation and hydroponics applications with micro-nutrients and specialty fertilizers.
