Alternative Investments/ESG: Calamos Launches ETF For Global Sustainable Stocks
The Calamos fund invests in the stocks of companies with strong ESG characteristics.
Calamos Investments LLC, in partnership with NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo, has listed the Calamos Antetokounmpo Global Sustainable Equities ETF (NYSEARCA: SROI) on NYSE ARCA.
The actively-managed fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in companies with strong ESG characteristics that have above-average growth potential and meet the fund’s proprietary ESG rating system. (CISION PR Newswire)
The ETF will look for these opportunities in the developed (including U.S.) and emerging markets.
The investment adviser for SROI, Calamos Antetokounmpo Asset Management LLC, will donate a portion of its profits to charities in areas such as economic empowerment, financial education, and the development of young people in underserved communities.
The ETF’s portfolio managers Tony Tursich, James Madden, and Beth Williamson established one of the first sustainable research platforms in the world and helped set the standards for many of today’s ESG portfolios.
Their system for SROI takes into account both quantitative and qualitative factors in an effort to identify growth-focused companies that, in Calamos’s opinion, are also deemed to be “responsible and engaged” (i.e., companies that demonstrate awareness and action surrounding the material ESG issues facing their businesses and industries).
SROI carries an annual expense ratio of 0.95%.
