The new ETF from Amundi gives investors an ESG tilt to their investment in Euro government bonds.

Amundi, a leading European asset manager and ETF provider, has announced the launch of a new Euro Government Tilted Green Bond UCITS ETF as part of its expanded Fixed Income ETF range. This ETF offers investors a unique approach to shift their core Euro government bond investments towards a responsible exposure.

The ETF tracks the Bloomberg Euro Treasury Green Bond Tilted Index, which includes Euro Investment Grade Government bonds with a minimum of 30% sovereign Green Bonds, aligning it with SFDR Article 8 classification.

The Bloomberg Euro Treasury Green Bond Tilted Index aims to maintain a similar risk profile to the parent index while providing broad exposure to the fixed income segment. It consists of approximately 360 issues from 10 countries, allowing investors to contribute to the energy transition while meeting the demand for fixed income investments in the current economic environment. According to Arnaud Llinas, Head of ETF, Indexing & Smart Beta at Amundi, the new ETF meets the demand for innovative solutions combining sovereign bond investments with an ESG focus. It is also a valuable addition to Amundi’s product range and a practical investment tool for financing the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Bloomberg Euro Treasury Green Bond Tilted Index is seen as a potential standard for incorporating ESG factors in treasuries, addressing the concerns of the global investment community.

Amundi’s Euro Government Tilted Green Bond UCITS ETF, resulting from the transformation of the firm’s Amundi Govt Bond Euro Broad Investment Grade UCITS ETF DR, has an initial AuM of approximately €500 million and charges an ongoing fee of 0.14%.

This new ETF strengthens Amundi’s responsible range, which is already the largest ESG UCITS ETF offering in the European market.
