Artificial Intelligence: The YOPI AI Device Tracks Heart Health From Your Sweat
“Heart beats give only a partial picture on an individual’s real physiological condition. You may be “in shape” but about to die.” – Yopi Website on today’s wearables that mostly measure heartbeats.
Israeli hi-tech company YOPI Technologies, co-founded by Hemi Re’em and Dr. Menachem Genut, has successfully developed a revolutionary wearable AI-based device called YOPI (Your Online Personal Instructor) that monitors sweat to detect early signs of heart function deterioration. The device, worn on the arm, features a unique sensor for real-time monitoring of training intensity and personalized physiological adjustments, making it a game-changer in sports monitoring and heart health tracking.
Dr. Dan Hadas, the company’s medical director and a sports cardiology expert, highlighted the significance of YOPI’s introduction, comparing it to the revolutionary impact of heart rate monitors with chest straps 20 years ago. (The Jerusalem Post)
The device is currently in its second development stage, wherein it will be adapted for the general public to detect heart function declines. YOPI Technologies’ strategic decision to manufacture the device in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council in the Gaza Envelope is aimed at expanding high-tech industries in the region and generating job opportunities. The factory is set to employ around 70 individuals, and mass production is scheduled to begin in early 2024.
YOPI Technologies has been generously supported by the Israel Innovation Authority and has received grants and investments from private investors. More recently, the company was approved for a grant from the Advanced Manufacturing Division, which will aid in the establishment of its factory and the advancement of production processes for innovative products. The company’s achievements are widely recognized for their significant contribution to both saving lives and stimulating economic growth in the region.
