Artificial Intelligence: Anthropic Launches Its All New AI Chatbot Dubbed Claude 2
Anthropic was valued at $4.1 billion in a recent funding.
Anthropic, an AI company valued at $4.1 billion, has launched its new AI chatbot called Claude 2 and offered it for public use. Claude 2, hitherto under testing by enterprises including Slack, Notion, and Quora, will now be available to the 350,000 consumers on a waitlist.
Daniela Amodei, who co-founded Anthropic with her brother, Dario, said Claude 2 was a very safe AI model that would be used by both businesses and retail customers. (CNBC)
Claude 2 can summarize an input of about 75,000 words, versus competitor ChatGPT, which can process up to 3,000 words only.
A team of about 35 people worked over two months to develop Claude 2, and they were backed up by another 150 people. Anthropic raised $450 million in May, a fundraise that came on the heels of a $300 million round closed in March that valued the startup at $4.1 billion.
According to Amodei, demand for large language models far outstripped the supply from the AI industry, and that these systems could be used by a wide range of users.
The White House in May invited Anthropic and three other technology companies to a meeting to discuss the responsible development of AI.
