Marty Chavez Will Depart Goldman Sachs after 19 Years at the Wall Street Titan

The big news today is the announcement that co-head of Goldman Sachs’ securities division Marty Chavez is departing the company. Chavez served briefly as CFO last year and was considered a candidate to become CEO of the firm.

Goldman Replacement for Marty Chavez

Goldman Sachs announced that co-head of Goldman’s global investment banking division, Marc Nachmann will replace Chavez. Nachmann will move to New York, which is much closer to his family in Florida. He had been commuting to London. The bank also announced that his position will not be filled. That means that Goldman now has two co-heads of investment banking — Gregg Lemkau and Dan Dees.

JPMorgan’s head of equity sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) is leaving the firm after more than 10 years. Michael Wilson is departing, according to a social media post. We had served in his role since 2010.

Private equity giant KKR announced a big change in Germany. Jan Baumgart is the company’s Director and Head of Real Estate Germany. Baumgart’s role will center on property and platform deals in Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia.

Paul Denman is heading to Close Brothers Asset Management (CBAM) to become a private client director. Denham departs Arbuthnot Latham and has more than 30 years’ experience. In his previous role, he served 14 years as a director in Arbuthnot’s private banking arm for 14 years and established a family office group.

Julia Beinker is now a managing director at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) to support its distribution growth across Europe. Beinker comes over from Muzinich & Co where she was a Managing Director. Her focus will center on growing in Austria and Germany.

Guggenheim Partners has appointed Managing Partner Andrew Rosenfield to the role of President of Guggenheim Partners. The firm also announced that C0-CEO Gerald Donini will also assume the title of Chief Operating Officer.
