Alternative Investments/ESG: BlackRock Unveils Multi-Asset, ESG ETFs
The three new ETFs from BlackRock are cost-efficient and sustainable investments.
BlackRock (NYSE: BLK) has unwrapped three new innovative UCITS funds that are claimed to be Europe’s first offering of tradable multi-asset ESG portfolios built with ETFs. Each of these funds is made up of iShares ETFs to provide access to a wide selection of stocks and bonds. (funds europe)
“We are doubling down on the characteristics that we know attract people to ETFs, to achieve a broad exposure to the markets in an ESG and risk-conscious way,” BlackRock said in a statement.
Predefined risk profiles
The funds are designed to deliver a total return depending on three predefined risk profiles, namely, Conservative, Moderate, and Growth. The funds are:
- BlackRock ESG Multi-Asset Conservative Portfolio Ucits ETF. It is suitable for more risk-averse investors and divides asset allocation between fixed-income and equities in an [80:20] ratio
- BlackRock ESG Multi-Asset Moderate Portfolio Ucits ETF. It is meant for investors with only an average risk tolerance and allocates between fixed-income and equities on an equal basis
- and, BlackRock ESG Multi-Asset Growth Portfolio Ucits ETF. This ETF targets more risk-tolerant investors who are comfortable with higher volatility and a [25:75] allocation between fixed-income and equities
The funds are listed on Xetra and are denominated in euros. Each ETF charges an expense ratio of 0.25%, including the cost of investing in the underlying iShares ETFs.
The actively managed funds will invest only in iShares ETFs that have a minimum of 80% of assets in ESG-facing strategies.
Joe Parkin, head of banks and digital channels in the UK at BlackRock, said: “There has never been a more important time for people to take control of their financial well-being. This choice of three ready-built portfolios has been designed to help more people invest money towards their long-term financial goals with ease while benefitting from investment expertise across BlackRock.”
