The ESG exclusions will remove companies involved in controversial weapons and firms that derive 2.5% or more of their revenue from thermal coal, as per the asset manager’s recent pledge to phase out its coal holdings by 2040.

Olga de Tapia, global head of ETF and indexing sales, said: “Our aim is to build an investor toolkit that allows them to incorporate different factor exposures, starting with the value factor and small capitalization. This product set provides investors with a means of building non-standard risk exposures into their portfolios and can be used as an alternative to standard market capitalization indices.”
