Deka Investment has launched five new climate change ESG ETFs.

Listed on the Stuttgart and Xetra exchanges, the new ETFs from Deka Investment give investors the opportunity to invest in large and medium-sized companies from Germany, the Eurozone, Europe, USA, and industrialized nations from across the world, considering sustainability criteria such as climate change. The ETFs track MSCI climate change indices to consider the effect of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The individual index components are evaluated based on environmental, social, or corporate governance (ESG) criteria. In addition to the exclusion of companies that do not meet certain ESG criteria, companies that violate the principles of the UN Global Compact are excluded.

Furthermore, companies with lower CO2 emissions are given a higher weighting in the index. The aim is to select companies with a positive effect on the climate.

Climate goals for investors

“With the Deka climate change ETF range, we support our investors in achieving their climate goals, building climate-robust portfolios and systematically integrating a measurable CO2 reduction into their strategies,” said Georg Kayser, head of institutional ETF sales at Deka. “The carbon dioxide footprint for the ETFs are significantly lower than that of their MSCI parent indices with a reduction in emissions for all five ETFs being more than 50%.”
