Artificial Intelligence: Agroknow’s AI-Powered Platform Flags Food Safety Risks
Its FOODAKAI platform analyzes food recalls and incidents across the globe.
As a company, it may be crucial to monitor and minimize food safety risks in your supply chain. Agroknow, a specialist in the analysis of food and agricultural data over the past 12 years, has created FOODAKAI, a platform that helps the food industry safe from potential hazards in raw materials, ingredients, and products. Food risk intelligence
FOODAKAI is a cloud-based food safety intelligence platform that watches out for and predicts risks and hazards across a business’ supply chain.
Using the Global Predictions Dashboard, users can access more than 56,000 officially announced food safety incidents. The food incidents go back to 1980 and cover more than 170 countries.
The data spans over 50 official sources of food incidents, more than 200 countries, over 1,800 types of hazards and serotypes, and about 15,000 commodities and products.
Users can customize the Dashboard to focus on hazards, products, and origins of interest. They can also verify the antecedents of a new supplier and verify whether they were responsible for a food safety incident.
It is also a powerful search and statistics tool. It allows the user to generate food safety analytics for ingredients, products, hazards, and origins.
Most usefully, the platform will send alarms for food recalls and border rejections of particular interest to the user.
For example, a user may be interested in apples and would like to know pesticide risks and their origin.
In the dashboard, the user can select the Raw Material as “apples.”
Thereafter, use a filter to select a region in the Hazards category.
The system will throw up the number of incidents, suppliers, and hazards relating to apples for the selected region. The data can be compared, drilled down, charted, and saved for future use.
Time saved
According to Agroknow, clients using FOODAKAI have slashed the time spent on monitoring food risks by half.
“We believe that there are smart ways in which we can improve food safety and mitigate risks without necessitating expensive in-house efforts,” said chief executive Nikos Manouselis. “With this solution, Agroknow aims to bring a radical transformation in the way that preventive measures can be prioritized by adopting a solution that would help predict food risks before they occur, creating truly precognitive capabilities within food safety.”
