At the Deeep Ai Art Fair in Shoreditch, East London, hangs a 3-D printed, AI-generated canvas depicting a nude woman painted by Pablo Picasso. The image, now dubbed The Lonesome Crouching Nude, is an AI-rendered work created by Oxia Palus from a work hidden beneath the oil paint of Picasso’s The Blind Man’s Meal (1903). The ghostly nude woman, which had been painted over by Picasso, was originally discovered in 2010 using superimposed X-ray fluorescence (XRF) imaging.
