Fintech: Flywire And Tencent Financial Technology Collaborate To Facilitate International Tuition Payments For Chinese Students
The transaction is enabled via a direct connection with one of China’s most popular digital wallets.
Flywire, a global payments and software company, has partnered with Tencent Financial Technology, the fintech arm of Tencent (HKG: 0700), to provide Chinese students and families who are making education payments abroad the option to use Weixin Pay (also known as WeChat Pay) for these transactions.
The partnership aims to provide a seamless and convenient payment experience for Chinese students studying internationally. Weixin Pay is a popular digital wallet in China, and this collaboration allows students to pay their education institutions using Weixin Pay in their local currency. (Flywire)
The partnership capitalizes on the increasing demand for studying abroad among Chinese students, who represent a significant portion of the international student population. With China’s border reopening, more international student mobility is expected from the region.
The partnership between Flywire and Tencent Financial Technology will provide Chinese students the opportunity to enhance their international payment experience, and make the process of paying for education as effortless as sending a chat.
