Alternative Investments/Digital: Fractional Investment In $500M Hedge Fund Through NFTs
Said to be the first DeFi NFT Project, a blockchain startup is selling NFTs to retail investors to invest the proceeds in a hedge fund.
Blockchain startup IO Investment Academy is giving investors the opportunity to invest small amounts in a $500 million, blockchain-focused hedge fund that delivered a 300% return rate in 2021 and had an investment minimum starting at $100,000. This first DeFi NFT project is introducing fractional investment into the blockchain world to completely rewrite the traditional investing process. (Yahoo Finance)
IO Investment Academy has launched an NFT collection and a monetary system using the concept of fractional investment to make it accessible for everyone to invest in this type of hedge fund.

Small investors who are unable to meet the account minimum for investing in the hedge fund can now do so by pooling their funds into an NFT sale by IO Investment Academy.
IO Investment Academy will invest up to 80% of the amount collected from the sale of the NFTs in the blockchain hedge fund with assets of $500 million and managed by Pantera Capital, which created the first blockchain hedge and venture funds in the United States in 2013.
Pantera manages $6 billion in blockchain assets under 8 different funds and has declared an average internal rate of return of 101% per year over the last 8 years.
The interest earned from the fund is distributed to the NFTs holders as passive income. The investors can sell their NFT (representing a small share of the hedge fund) at any time without having to contact the hedge fund directly.
