This feature is an enhancement over Google Calendar’s appointment scheduling facility.

Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) announced in a blog post that it is integrating its Google Calendar with Stripe to enable the scheduling of paid appointments. Users may either connect their existing Stripe account to Google Calendar, or open a new Stripe account through Calendar.

The user’s customer or client may visit the Google Calendar booking page, fix an appointment slot and then enter particulars of their credit card.

The key advantage of this facility is the reduction in no-shows and the availability of up-front payments. The small business also gains through better visibility on collections and the more efficient management of time.

Google will redirect bookers to Stripe and does not process or store payment info or charge platform fees, according to the post. Google will not involve with payment or refund issues, which need to be sorted out by providers and bookers through Stripe.

Google is rolling out this feature in phases starting July 10. It has also assured that it will not charge any platform fees and will not store or process any payment info.
