Artificial Intelligence: In 2022, Order Your Pizza On An App, Have It Served By Robots In A Mobile Restaurant
Robotics-powered mobile pizza restaurant, Stellar Pizza, will launch in L.A. in 2022.
A trio of ex-SpaceX engineers, Benson Tsai, Brian Langone, and James Wahawisan, founded Stellar Pizza in 2019. The company has devised an innovative machine that uses high technology and advanced robotics to bake a pizza inside five minutes without the touch of a human hand. Stellar Pizza will launch in the spring of 2022 in Los Angeles inside a food truck and will serve pizzas baked on the basis of orders placed on the company’s app. (Robotics & Automation)
Stellar Pizza developed a pizza recipe with the help of Ted Cizma, former Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Services at SpaceX and pizza consultant, Noel Brohner. The recipe allows for serving high-quality and affordable pizzas at high volumes.
The machine and the recipe combine to transform raw pizza dough and fresh toppings into a fully baked pizza in under five minutes. The truck will have the capacity to serve a fresh, gourmet-style pizza every 45 seconds.
Typically, the robotic process presses and shapes a fresh ball of raw pizza dough into a rounded pizza base to which the robotics add tomato sauce and toppings including Grande East Coast Mozzarella. The assembled pizza is then placed inside a high temperature, custom-designed oven for baking.
Customers can choose from a concise menu that offers the most popular and classic pizza toppings. Stellar Pizza uses the finest ingredients to ensure the highest quality flavors.
