Henry Kravis, the doyen of private equity and co-founder of KKR, takes a punt on fintech and blockchain

Henry Kravis has invested in San Francisco-based ParaFi, an alternative investment fund with a special focus on the fintech and blockchain ecosystem.

ParaFi is led by founder and CIO Ben Forman, an investor with over 10 years of experience across public and private markets at KKR and TPG.

ParaFi

With an AUM of nearly $25 million, ParaFi has Bain Capital and Dragonfly Capital Partners, other big names in the venture capital and private equity sectors, as investors in the fund.

Kravis has other elite companies. Deep-pocketed crypto aficionados from Silicon Valley include Peter Thiel, Marc Andreessen, and Naval Ravikant.

What is the investment opportunity?

Alternatives are still not fully understood and provide higher returns while being uncorrelated with traditional investments. Crypto and fintech spaces are still in their infancy and could offer multi-bagger returns to savvy investors entering early.
