Artificial Intelligence: Now, An AI Mattress Designed For “Sleep Tourism”
AI is enabling mattresses to be better at the serious business of enhancing sleep.
Hotels are incorporating mattresses with artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the sleep experience for their guests. These mattresses, like the one developed by Bryte, have 90 cushions that adapt to individual needs, detect discomfort and adjust firmness and position accordingly. They also detect heart rate and respiratory movements to track sleep cycles and adjust texture and temperature.
The mattresses can be controlled using an app, allowing guests to choose the way they fall asleep. While AI mattresses are becoming popular in luxury hotels, they may not become ubiquitous due to their high cost.
However, they are becoming a “must-have” for establishments promoting sleep tourism by offering special accommodation for guests seeking a restful night’s sleep.
For instance, in 2022, the Park Hyatt New York remodeled an 84 sqm suite that would completely enhance the guest’s the pleasure of sleep. This suite has the Bryte AI mattress.
Also making these smart mattresses is Sleep Number – its Smart Bed 360 mattress is able to detect the user’s health problems, and can make adjustments after sensing their sleep patterns.
