Venture Capital: OpenView Lands $570M For Its VIIth Fund
OpenView specializes in high growth software startups.
OpenView has closed its seventh fund, totaling $570 million, a 25% increase over the firm’s sixth fund and its largest to date. The venture capital firm will continue to invest in high-growth software startups, globally across all business software categories, with a focus on expansion stage companies.
OpenView has raised a total of $2.4 billion across its seven funds and has partnered with more than 60 companies, including Datadog, Calendly, and UserTesting.
The firm has nearly 80 team members and operates with a two and a half-to-one ratio of people to portfolio companies, providing operational expertise to help its portfolio companies on sales, marketing, product-led growth, talent, and corporate development.
The VC firm is active in software categories including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity and vertical software. Mackey Craven, OpenView partner, told TechCrunch that global software spend is about twice what it was five years ago and is still growing at double-digit rates.
The new fund has already made its maiden investment in Rewst, a company engaged in robotic process automation for the managed service provider sector.
