FinTech: Porsche’s App Makes Contactless Parking A Cinch In Melbourne
Find a car park, open the boom-gate, get an invoice, and pay – all contactless.
Porsche owners in Melbourne can now look forward to super-easy off-street parking in Melbourne, Australia, thanks to the all-new Porsche Park app. Advantages: Zero contact parking – just search, navigate, access, and pay. (NFCW)
In-vehicle and app-based
Porsche (ETR: PAH3) owners need to first download the Porsche Park app from the Apple App Store (NASDAQ: AAPL) and set their preferred payment method to be used for contactless parking through the app.
While driving, they can locate compatible car parks by opening the app through the Apple CarPlay on their touchscreen. Once they’ve decided on the parking venue they can launch real-time navigation to guide them towards it.
- “Upon arrival, the app will automatically detect a car park entrance via Bluetooth and signal to the driver the available entry lanes via the center console display of the PCM [Porsche Communication Management] screen,” says Porsche.
- “The driver can then select and open the boom-gate via a button on the display without needing to handle any paper or digital tickets.”
- “After entering the car park the app will continue to monitor the parking event, with information about cost and duration of stay accessible at any time via the app on your mobile phone.”
- “When leaving the car park, the driver follows the same procedure as at arrival and a transaction summary is available immediately after exiting the car park.”
According to Porsche, the app enables faster, contact-free, and cost-optimized parking. It revolutionizes the way people park.
“Our complete windows up solution via Apple CarPlay guarantees a safe and hygienic way to park without the line up at a pay station. Automatic barrier opening for you with just one click.”
