Venture Capital: Section 32 Raises $525M For Investing In Disruptive Tech And AI

Section 32 (“S32”) has successfully closed Fund 5, an oversubscribed investment pool totaling $525 million. This fund is earmarked to support and expand companies pioneering cutting-edge technologies. In alignment with S32’s legacy, Fund 5 will focus on backing companies that are pushing the boundaries in software and artificial intelligence (AI). The aim is to facilitate new capabilities and significant performance enhancements in various sectors, including enterprise software, cybersecurity, data infrastructure, gaming, fintech, precision medicine, and computational biology.

Wesley Tillu, previously a Senior Principal, has been promoted to Partner at Section 32. Wesley’s experience includes roles at In-Q-Tel, Google, GIC, and Merrill Lynch. Wesley has been instrumental in sourcing notable investments for S32, serving on the Board of Directors of Inworld and as a board observer at Phaidra. He has also expanded S32’s research capabilities and strengthened its partnerships within the entrepreneurial community and top-tier venture capital firms.
