The Foresite Predictive Health and Fall Management System is being offered at the Bristal at York Avenue, NYC, and other locations.

The Bristal offers luxurious senior living accommodations in privately owned communities on Long Island, in Westchester County, NY, and in New Jersey. Residents can choose from luxury senior apartments, assisted living, independent living, and accommodations for memory care. The Bristal at Lake Success, The Bristal at York Avenue, The Bristal at Mount Sinai, and The Bristal at Bethpage are among the first assisted living communities in New York State to implement the Foresite Predictive Health and Fall Management system. Foresite Predictive Health and Fall Management system

Foresite is a high-tech platform that includes wireless sensors, artificial intelligence, deep machine learning, visual monitoring systems, and predictive analysis.

The system tracks a resident’s health, helps to predict an elevated risk of falling, and provides immediate alerts should a fall occur.

Immediate attention is needed for such cases, particularly those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, who often cannot communicate when something goes wrong.

Foresite installs infrared cameras that record only a silhouette image of the senior to ensure the protection of privacy. These cameras capture the resident’s gait and movement patterns, while wireless sensors under the resident’s mattress monitor their breathing, heart rate, and other vital parameters.

Once a standard health profile is established, the Foresite system watches for any significant deviations such as sudden changes in heart rates or respiration. The system also issues an alert to nursing staff when the senior attempts to get out of bed, or makes a sudden movement that could presage a fall.

“The pandemic has shown the seniors that if you are living alone you are going to be isolated,” said Faraz Kayani, Regional Director of Operations for The Bristal to the Post.

“To me, as someone who operates senior living, this is a game-changer,” Kayani added.
