The Apple Entrepreneur Camp supports diversity in technology.

In a notice on Monday, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) said applications were open from Black founders and developers for its Apple Entrepreneur Camp to be held online from February 16-25, 2021. (Apple)

The iPhone-maker said attendees would receive code-level guidance, mentorship, and inspiration with unprecedented access to Apple engineers and leaders.

Applications close on November 20, 2020.

Apple’s commitment to racial diversity and equity

In June, Apple said it would spend $100 million on new racial equity and justice initiative.

It promised to jack up at spending with black-owned partner companies as well as commence working with the Equal Justice Initiative.

At the time the company also said it would support black developers with a new developer entrepreneur camp.

That’s happening now.

“We created Apple Entrepreneur Camp with the goal of supporting entrepreneurs who are underrepresented in technology as they build the next generation of cutting-edge apps, and to form a global network that encourages the pipeline and longevity of founders and developers of all backgrounds,” the company said.

Applicants for the camp

Developers from anywhere in the world can apply.

However, their organization must have a Black founder, co-founder, and CEO; a Black developer proficient in Swift or Objective-C; and a developed app or functional build that the applicant can demo live.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and fluent in English. Their founders, cofounders, CEO, the Black developer must all be 18 years of age or older and be proficient in English.

Lastly, they must all be able to attend the camp for its entire duration.

Benefits from the camp

  • One-on-one code-level guidance from Apple engineers.
  • Ongoing support from an Apple Developer representative for at least one year.
  • One year of membership in the Apple Developer Program.
  • Access to the Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni network, a world-class group of inspiring and ambitious leaders.
  • Invitations to participate in special sessions at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference
