The company has created the first ISP (Image Signal Processor) that is entirely software-based.

Visionary.ai, an Israeli startup has made it its mission to overcome the limitations posed on image quality due to poor lighting conditions, such as low light, high dynamic range (such as when a person is silhouetted against a bright background), heavy rain, fog, increased motion, and sudden changes in intensity, like flashing headlights. Traditional, hardware-based image signal processors are unable to produce the desired image quality in these circumstances. (MARKTECHPOST)

But cameras installed in consumer electronics, drones, robots, mobility, medical imaging, and other industries can now produce high quality images even in challenging conditions thanks to a software-based ISP from Visionary.ai.

The software uses AI on the edge for real-time enhancement of the images and the reduction of image noise.

The CEO and co-founder of the company Oren Debbi stated: “The market is experiencing dynamic growth for image sensors used for laptop cameras, medical endoscopy, safety reversing cameras, electronic doorbells, quality inspection on the assembly line, and hundreds of other applications. Our software-based ISP is continuously being updated with optimized algorithms to enable these sensors to create the highest possible quality images so people can stay connected, healthy, and safe.”

In June, Visionary.ai announced a partnership with Innoviz (NASDAQ: INVZ), a leading provider of high-performance, automotive-grade LiDAR sensors and perception software.

The two technologies aim to improve 3D machine vision performance for a wide range of applications including robotics, smart cities, and drones.

They will offer highly accurate 3D imaging, especially during challenging imaging conditions such as: extreme low light, High Dynamic Range (HDR), heavy rain or fog, high motion, and sudden changes in intensity, such as flashing headlights.
