McKinsey estimates the global market volume of Metaverse commerce between 2 and 2.6 trillion US dollars by 2030.

Global payment services provider, Worldline, has launched a shopping mall in Decentraland to help companies across all industries get an easy entry into the Web 3.0 world, and create an initial presence in the Metaverse. The white-label solution provides retailers, service providers, and banks with an opportunity to prepare for the Metaverse now and gain initial experience ahead of the estimated global market volume of Metaverse commerce of between $2 and $2.6tn by 2030.  (Worldline)

The Worldline Shopping Mall offers a simple and modular way for companies to build up a presence in Web 3.0 and test how their own community reacts to it.

It provides store tenants with the proven Worldline payment function, with or without cryptocurrencies, as well as a set of advertising services. Optional add-on packages include target advertising, “phygital” products, and augmented reality, and are designed to help stores and products achieve greater visibility and create an innovative customer experience.

For testing purposes, Worldline had set up a virtual showroom in March 2022 allowing well-known brands from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Australia to experience the Metaverse.

“This one-year test run achieved such convincing results that these companies now want to continue their commitment with their own presence in the shopping mall,” Worldline said in a statement.

Nine businesses have set up shop in the Worldline Shopping Mall included the German direct bank Consorsbank, The Chedi Andermatt, a Swiss luxury hotel, and Naked Life, a non-alcoholic spirits brand from Australia.

The Worldline Shopping Mall reflects the company’s belief that the Metaverse, alongside stationary point of sale and e-commerce, is the sales channel of the future. The Metaverse is expected to become another retail commerce channel alongside point-of-sale and e-commerce.
